What's included in base price
A base price, auction, or listing starts you off with a simple patterned costume, static jaw, small-to-medium tail, any expression, normal plantigrade legs, paws or hooves, 2D or 3D eyes, and a simple hairstyle.
Choose your extras
Want a moving jaw, digigrade legs, a complex pattern, or horns? Set prices for most extras are listed above — a quote for your pattern and other odd parts comes with your reference sheet submission.
Add it up
Add up all your extras so you know the final amount while bidding or purchasing — extras are added on top of the winning bid. E.g. a $28,000 auction + $2,500 in extras = $30,500 total.

Each auction is announced via the mailing list, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and FurAffinity — subscribe and follow along to know instantly when a listing goes live. Or email with an offer to chat through commission options directly.
Payment & shipping
A deposit of 50% must be paid within five days of the listing/auction ending. The rest must be paid within two months of winning. Work won't start on a costume until the full amount is paid up. Payments are made via bank transfer — PayPal is accepted, but only if the client covers PayPal's fees.
Shipping is free! Import duties, taxes, and charges are the buyer's responsibility — check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs may include.

Ordering
How do I order a costume?
Sign up to the mailing list and/or follow on social media — Instagram, Twitter, FurAffinity, and Facebook — for announcements on when auctions/listings go live. Also open for offers any time via email at SparkyCanDo@gmail.com. All clients must be 18+ or have a guardian involved in the commission for signing the contract and making payments. See the Terms & Conditions at the bottom of this page for more info.
Can you ship to my country?
Yes — haven't found one we can't send to yet!
How long does shipping take?
Shipping is by courier and, depending on where you are relative to New Zealand, takes between 2–6 working days. Weather and other conditions may slow it down (looking at you, Christmas and New Year's).
Once I win an auction/listing and the contract is signed, how long until my costume starts being worked on/is finished?
Depending on the current workload and how quickly you send your DTD and other measurements, it should be done within four to six months.
How does your payment plan work?
Once a new commission is confirmed, the contract needs to be signed and a 50% deposit paid within one week. The rest is due within 1–3 months depending on the commission's starting time. Work won't start on your costume until the full amount is paid — though you're welcome to pay it all up front if you prefer.
Do I need to make a Duct-Tape-Dummy?
Yes — costumes are only made using a customer's DTD, even for ones without digitigrade legs or padding. A DTD makes for the best fit! A DTD tutorial is available to help — linked at the bottom of this page.
Quality & info
Do you double sew your seams?
Yep! Seams are double sewn and over locked too, so it's neat and tidy on the inside. Very strong thread is used, so there should never be a machine-sewn seam popping.
What are your eyes made of?
Eyes are made of plastic (3D printed) — very strong and durable. The iris color is semi-waterproof, hand painted on buckram, and sealed.
How do you see through the costume?
You see through the costume's pupils/iris, made from a see-through buckram material. You can usually see through the mouth too.
What furs do you use?
Many kinds of "fake" furs, ordered online from all over the world. If there's a particular kind of fur you'd like, or you've found one you like that's of good quality, happy to look into it for use.
What style of costumes do you offer?
Mostly specialising in cartoony costumes, but also happy to play in the more realistic or mascot-type styles.
Can you make me a costume from a TV series, movie, or game?
No — nothing that has a copyright or character that doesn't belong to you.

Eleven years "officially" in business, but fursuit crafting started at fifteen years old — so around fifteen years total. WowEee!
Care Guide
From your friendly neighborhood suit-maker — how to put it on, wear it, clean it, and keep it looking sharp for years.
Putting on the costume
Slide costume pieces on gently and give a gentle tug where needed. Slowly zip up, making sure fur isn't getting jammed in the zipper — no cramming it on fast and pulling on the fur violently. A spandex or lycra under-body suit is helpful and suggested — it keeps things comfortable and helps catch sweat, and makes putting the suit on and off much easier, especially with digi-leg costumes. A balaclava worn under the head keeps hair and sweat out of your eyes.
- Sleeves always go over hand gloves, and leggings over the feetzies (or zip on, depending on what you have).
- A helper is always useful when getting into a fursuit — it's in the name!
After wearing / storage
Make sure the costume is dried out and brushed down — matting can form in areas prone to sweat and rubbing, like between the legs and under the armpits. It's good to brush these out before they get worse. Spray the inside of the bodysuit, head, feet, and hands with disinfectant spray to help keep mould from growing and smells from setting in. Once dry and brushed, store on a hanger in a closet, or folded up in a spacious box — keep it out of direct sunlight or heat, which can melt certain parts and fade the fur color over time.
- Storing in a car for a short time? Park under shade.
- Make sure the head isn't getting squashed while stored, especially with whiskers or a moving jaw.
Cleaning the costume
The bodysuit, leggings, sleeves, and handpaws can be machine washed with a gentle cleaner on a soft cycle, warm/cold water — or hand washed in a bathtub the same way, rinsing 2–3 times until all the soap is out. Feet, tail, and head can be spot cleaned with a warm damp cloth and a bit of soap on the areas that need it.
For white fur, bleach can be used to spot clean stains — rub a little on, leave to dry, then brush once dry and the stain should be gone. Bleaches vary, so test on an extra bit of white fur or a hidden area first. An alcohol antibacterial spray can be used inside the head and inside the bodysuit, hands, and feet between washes to keep odor down.
For drying: never use a machine dryer, it will melt the fur fibers. Air drying is recommended — brush out the fur every so often while it dries to keep it smooth and flowing in the right direction.
- Never use a hair dryer on the costume — it will curl and melt the fur.
- Avoid harsh stain removers or bleach except on white fur, and always test on a spare piece first.
Minor repairs
After some time, the costume might need a minor repair — a rip, a hole, or a popped-off claw. These are usually easy to fix yourself or with an "expert" friend: use a strong thread to sew up any rip or hole, and hot glue where needed. Eyes, noses, paw pads, and a bit of extra matching fur are usually on hand if needed. Anything that can't be fixed on your own — just reach out and we'll help sort it out. =D
